Privacy notice

Effective November 2, 2026

Many visitors to this site are teachers and students, some of them minors. We keep what we collect to the minimum needed to run what you ask of us. This site and our hosted ranges are operated by Line Zero Cyber LLC ("we"). This notice covers linezerocyber.com and the accounts students create on our hosted ranges.

What we collect

Only what you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you enter, plus any event details you choose to add (product, event type, number of students and dates). If you email or call us, we receive what you choose to share.

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or third-party embeds. Fonts and images are served from this site, so loading a page doesn't contact anyone else.

How the contact form works

When you press Send, your message is passed to Amazon Web Services, which delivers it as an email to our inbox at info@linezerocyber.com (hosted by Proton Mail). Submissions aren't stored in a database or anywhere else on our side.

Our systems keep a short technical record of whether each message was delivered, without your name, email address or message. These records are deleted automatically within 30 days.

Student accounts on our hosted ranges

A student creates an account on the event's scoreboard with a username and a password of their choosing. We don't ask for a real name, email address or date of birth. We store a one-way scrambled form of the password (a hash), never the password itself.

While an event runs, the scoreboard records what a student does in it: the flags and answers they submit (right or wrong, and when), their points, the hints they unlock, the team they join, any "I'm stuck" requests, and any points a teacher adds or removes. Each student also gets a private lab computer. Anything done inside the lab computers is temporary and is deleted when the range is taken down. We don't save it between sessions.

Teachers see this activity for their own class on their instructor dashboard.

Events with more than one session

Some bookings run over several sessions. We take the range down after each session, so it isn't left running between classes. To let students pick up where they stopped, we save an encrypted copy of the scoreboard data described above (usernames, password hashes, scores, submissions, hints and teams) when a session ends, and load it into the next session's fresh range. The lab computers themselves aren't saved.

The saved copy is kept in an encrypted store in the United States on Amazon Web Services. Only the people who run the range at Line Zero can open it. It isn't used for anything other than restarting your class's scoreboard.

How we use it

We use what you send only to reply to you and to plan any event you ask about. We use student account data only to run the event it was created for. We don't sell it, share it for marketing, or add you to a mailing list.

How long we keep it

Your message stays in our email inbox for as long as we're corresponding with you or working with your school. Ask us to delete it at any time.

For a single event, the scoreboard data is deleted when we take the range down, after your teacher has downloaded the results. For a booking with several sessions, the saved copy is deleted 14 days after the final session, and in every case no later than the booking's end date. We can delete it sooner if your teacher or school asks.

Students and children

This site isn't meant to collect information from children under 13. If you're a student, please ask a teacher or parent to contact us for you. If you think a child has sent us personal information, tell us and we'll delete it.

Your choices

Email info@linezerocyber.com to ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. That includes a saved scoreboard copy from a multi-session event. We'll reply within a few business days.

Changes

If we change how this site handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
